Workshop on Embedded Gaming
The world of embedded computing has seen large strides in performance, cost, and ease of integration. With the advent of low-cost, crowd sourced mobile platforms such as Arduino and the Raspberry Pi, and the ever-increasing prevalence of embedded mobile devices such as smartphones, the embedded gaming concept is growing from a minor player to being able to threaten established console markets. This workshop explores the challenges and advantages of these embedded device platforms, and how developers can leverage unique properties and qualities of mobile computing platforms, their processors and GPUs, embedded Linux environments, and a new realm of possibility provided by wireless networking technology. Learn about the challenges of resource constraints such as battery life and available computing power, and how low-cost embedded platforms can revolutionize the industry. This workshop will be centered around the Raspberry Pi platform architecture.
